Weekend Activities

Between March and August 2012, there have been five FIND Orphy outreach events held at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum. The events focused on Project NEURON topics of how we perceive color, the use of planarians in scientific research, the structure/function of the brain, and the impact of drugs & toxins. Listed below are outreach program dates and the topics that were covered during each event.

  • March 11, 2012 - FIND Orphy opening event from 1pm-3pm; topics included Circadian Rhythms, Color Perception, and Traumatic Brain Injury
  • April 21, 2012 - DNA Day from 1pm - 3pm
  • June 10, 2012 - Circadian Rhythms from 1pm - 3pm
  • July 8, 2012 - Drugs & Toxins from 1pm - 3pm
  • August 12, 2012 - Comparative Neurobiology from 1pm - 3pm

We will hold more outreach events at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum in November 2012 and the spring 2013 semester. Continue to check back for more information about the specific dates, topics, and times.
